About Arohan:
Arohan is based out of Kolkata and presently operates within a 50 km radius of the city, which constitutes nearly 40% of West Bengal's population. Subsequently it will cover other parts of West Bengal and eventually spread to other states in eastern and north-eastern India. The client base Arohan has identified for itself are micro-entrepreneurs in the trade, services & manufacturing sector, small and marginal farmers involved in agriculture and agri-allied activities, wage labourers in the farm and non-farm sector and low income workers of the organized sector. Arohan lends toJoint Liability Groups (JLGs) of poor women who transact weekly. Simple operating procedures have been established which allow Arohan to be run with relatively less expensive human resources and that enable fast expansion. In due course of time, other financial products will be introduced. Arohan follows best practices of corporate governance and management and envisages itself emerging as among the most admired companies in the micro-finance industry amongst customers, employees and other stakeholders.
