At the heart of the Lok Capital Group is a venture fund, "Lok Capital LLC". Lok Capital LLC is focused on making equity investments in Indian MFIs. Lok Advisory Services (LAS), a team of professionals based in India, acts as Investment Advisor to the Fund. The Lok Foundation, a not-for-profit registered entity, provides grant financing for the delivery of long-term technical assistance services to those MFIs that have received, or are likely to receive an equity investment from Lok Capital LLC. Together the various entities of Lok Capital function like a traditional venture firm (financed through the Fund), supported, however, by a strong capacity building function (financed through the Foundation) and delivered through LAS and its various partners.

At the end of the investment period of the Fund, Lok Capital hopes to have created a network of adequately capitalized and sustainable MFIs with the potential to grow quality assets at 30% per annum or faster. The network of MFIs so created, through its combined asset size, will have the ability to collectively serve several million customers who previously had no access to financial services.
